Sylvia Rhea Dennis Bingham

Sylvia Rhea Dennis Bingham 1916 ~ 2003  Sylvia Rhea Dennis Bingham was born March 16, 1916, to Daniel and Laura Dennis in Myton, UT. Sylvia lived the early part of her life in Myton, where she met and married Howard Bingham. She was the youngest of 11 children born to Dan and Laura Dennis. Howard and Sylvia were married  July 31, 1934,and they lived in Myton, where four children were born. Howard and Sylvia were married for 69 yrs.  Sylvia was a homemaker and wonderful wife and mother. In 1944 they moved to Carbon Co. where Howard went to work for Price Trading Company. They soon bought the Hiawatha store and worked as partners in the store for 31 yrs. In 1964 they had their marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Sylvia was active in the church and held many positions. She always had a great faith in the Lord and in her church and its teachings. After retiring from the store they moved to Orem, UT and served in the Sharon Park 4th ward. She did Temple work for seven years. Sylvia was blessed with eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of so many years, daughter Kareen Martinsen, son Gordon Bingham  and a brother Devear, (Louise) Dennis and sister Fern Tyler, grandchildren, Shelly Demott, JoMarie Hogan, Devlin Martinsen, Daniel Martinsen, Keri Ann Rodgers,  Matthew Bingham, Connie Martinsen, and Beverly Post. Also her son-in-law Leo DePalma. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Joan Bingham, and Barbara Bingham DePalma, her parents and several brothers and sisters.   Funeral services will be held Monday November 24, 2003 at 11:00 am in the Sharon Park 4th Ward, 310 N. 100 E. Orem, UT. Interment to follow at the Bluffdale Cemetery in Bluffdale, UT.   A viewing will be held on Sun. November 23, 2003 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary 495 So. State St., Orem, UT.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Sylvia's name to any local hospice organization or the American Cancer Society
