Thomas William Oswald "Ozzie" or "Oz" passed away on April 2, 2024 in Provo, Utah at the age of 80, after a year of a valiant struggle. He was born June 8, 1943 to Mary Alice Bowers and Harry A. Oswald in Los Angeles, CA. Parents and younger brother Michael deceased. Tom was always ready to help neighbors, grandchildren, and anyone who needed help. He repaired automobiles and Older classics. He liked to cook, and garden in the summer.

He married Kathleen Mliner on January 18, 1969. They were married for 55years. They have two children Christine (Richard Aldous) and Gregory (Julia) and 3 grandchildren.

He received his 2 year degree from Long Beach City College. And was studying to get his 4 year degree. He received his mechanics Airman's Certification in February of 1971. Tom worked for Western Airlines, and Delta Airlines for 31 years. He was an Avionics Mechanic, and also taught Avionics for Delta Airlines. He was transferred to Salt Lake City when Delta bought Western.

Tom liked to play chess which took he and Katie to many places around the world. He was part of the Interline Chess club, and they went to Bali, Indonesia twice, Fortaleza, Brazil, Hawaii, and Menton, France.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his daughter Christine, and his son Gregory, sister Judy (David Carney) brother Pat Oswald (Rosemarie Specter), and grandchildren Emma, Steven, and Thomas.

There will be a mass for the repose of his soul on August 8, 2024.

Tom is to be cremated and there will be a celebration of life on his birthday June 8, 2024 at Sugarhouse Park from 11:30 AM to 2 PM in the Sego Lilly Pavillion. Please come and say hello and bring memories and pictures if you have them.
