Timothy Ging Obituary

Timothy Ging

In Loving Memory

Plummer, ID-It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved brother and son, Tim, who left us on May 19th, 2025. His passing was sudden and unexpected, and we are still trying to come to terms with the loss of him.

Tim was born on November 16, 1988, in Akron, OH to Robert and Kim Ging. The Ging family moved around for work, so Tim grew up in Ohio, Connecticut, Texas, and Utah. He graduated from New Milford High School with the class of 2007.

Following high school, Tim went to work in Tech Support. His career was more than a job to him; it was a passion and something he thoroughly enjoyed. Tim was exceptionally smart and talented, and he loved his job at Utah based NetCuras, and felt blessed to have a great boss, co-workers, and clients. Gifted with a brilliant mind, Tim earned several certifications through Cisco which only helped him advance in his career over the years.

Tim was more than just a brother and son-he was a loyal friend, a gifted engineer, and a fierce gamer. He was known for his sharp mind and love of problem solving. He thrived on puzzles that others found overwhelming, was always searching for solutions, and never backed down from a challenge. Whether he was diving deep into the world of role-playing games or mastering the strategy of a complex video game, Tim brought passion, creativity, and joy to everything he did. Moving to the Pacific Northwest gave him opportunity to be close to the water as he was an avid fisherman on the lake and ice. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, and shooting.

Tim is survived by his parents Rob and Kimberly Ging of Worley, ID; brother Steven Ging of Worley, ID; brother and sister in-law Matthew and Silvia Ging of Salt Lake City, UT; sister and brother in-law Jessica and Paul Figgins of Salt Lake City, UT; and his beloved niece Alice Figgins; aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents. You may visit his online tribute at hodgefuneralhome.com.

Tim was one of the biggest reasons I fell in love with video games (to the detriment of our parents). I remember watching him play Pokémon Yellow on his Game Boy Color-I still have the cartridge and Game Boy in my closet. He introduced me to the magic of Zelda (Ocarina of Time), Donkey Kong 64, and the deep storytelling of Final Fantasy VIII. I loved watching Tim play because I was too young to beat them myself, but loved watching him triumph over bosses and play through the stories.
Those moments weren´t just about games-they were about connection, wonder, and the joy of sharing something you love. His passion became mine, and it genuinely contributed to shaping who I am today. I will always cherish those memories and the world he opened up for me.

Love Always,
Little Sister Jess
