I thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, with which I'll never part. God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart.

I don't know what life is going to look like with out Grandpa..I don't know what life will look like without worrying about him, without his not so nice jokes, and the funny ones too. I do know that it will never be the same.

Renee and family,
I am very sorry to hear that Vern passed away. You have lost a great Father and Husband. I have lost a very real and great freind. It is conforting to know that he went quietly in his sleep. He will now be there to greet us one by one, if, he is not somewhere helping orhers out.
God be with you and grant you solace.

Dear Carsey Family,
So sorry to hear about Vern's passing. He was a great man and a great Scout leader. He and his cousin Sid Dotson were very instrumental in making me into the person I am today. I hope I can be as an effective Scout leader (currently called as Scout Master)as he was. It wasn't until much later in "adult" life that I realized the great love your dad had for the Scouting program and the sacrifices he made for the boys and Scouting. May God bless you and your families at this time.
sincerly,

Taylor Soderborg

I remember Uncle Vern baptizing me. I remember him getting mad at Renetta and I for sharing a can of tuna fish...which he told us should feed a lot more than 2 people ;-P His amazing sense of humor and his love. When he gave a blessing, you know you were indeed blessed. I know he will never be far away! To my cousins who have just lost their dad...I feel your pain as mine has only been gone a short while. To Karen...be strong! Your Grandpa is with your dad and they are both okay! Uncle Vern always loved to tease and was pro at it. Sometimes I wasn't sure if he was joking or serious, but I always knew he loved me. His loss is very difficult for everyone. ..as most are, but Uncle Vern was special beyond words. I know he had a very warm welcome into the spirit world. Grandma and Grandpa, Dad, Dan and Vicki and many, many others are so happy he is home. Aunt Rene...when you need mom, you know how to get ahold of her. Call her anytime...trust me, she sleeps weird times....when she sleeps. I know you can be of great strength to eachother. To Uncle Verns entire family...we love you! It will never get easier, but you will learn to cope with his loss a little better each day as you recall his role in your lives. To my mom, Aunt LaNette, and my Uncles who have lost their brother...I miss mine too! I love each of you. Uncle Vern was one of my great teachers in life. He taught me that life is much too short to not acknowledge my love for my family and friends, regardless of what may have taken place. He taught me that my best was okay, even if I didn't measure up to others around me. Watching he and Aunt Rene while I was growing up helped me become a better adult. It helped me be a better wife and mother. Watching them showed me that a bit of sacrifice could reap great rewards. I thank you both!
