Viola Powell Obituary

Viola "Wilma" Powell Beloved Mother & Grandmother  Mom returned home on March 3, 2004 to her Heavenly Father after a long courageous battle with health problems.  Mom was born on September 18, 1935 to Fred Voyle Farmer and Edna F. Sevy. She was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Marvin Powell, later divorced. Mom's early life was spent raising three sons which she loved dearly. She was an interpreter for the deaf, and a cook at American Legion Post 112; she took much pride in her work and made many dear friends. She enjoyed trips to Wendover, camping with the family, crocheting and ceramics. She also found the time to take care of her mother up until the time of her mother's passing. Mom had love for all who met her. She will be dearly missed by all of her friends and  family. Survived by her sons, Butch, Bill (Melissa), Kevin (Georgia), two brothers, Voyle Farmer, Gene Sevy; step brother, Bill (Pat) Sevy; step sister, Betty (John) Hall; eight grandkids; four great-grandkids; many nieces and nephews; best friends, Rosemary, Nancy and Ed, which were always at her side throughout her life. The family would like to express their gratitude and many thanks to "Bo" Foreman, Marta Peterson, Kevin, Julis, and the staff and U of U Hospital. Also the staff at Rocky Mountain Home Health Care and staff at the Heritage Bennion Care. A viewing will be held Sunday, March 7th, from 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 So. Redwood Rd, and services will follow Mon., March 8th, at 11 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to services.
