Vishnu Srivastava Obituary

1959 ~ 2013
Vishnu Ji Srivastava, loving father, son, brother, uncle, husband and friend, 53 years old, passed away on August 7, 2013 of natural causes.
Vish was born August 26, 1959 in Lakhimpur-Kheri, U. P. India to Ramesh and Tejesh Srivastava.
Vish is survived by his wife, Sheila Srivastava, daughter Vanessa Srivastava, son Zachary Srivastava, mother Tejesh Indra Srivastava, brother Krishna Srivastava, sister Vandana (Vini) and Matthew Misicka, and sister Ranjana (Renu) and Thomas Panett. Vish was preceded in death by his father Ramesh Srivastava.
Vish was a passionate father and loved spending time with his children. His volunteer efforts were always centered around their activities. Vish was very active in the community. He coached soccer with AYSO and was an avid Boy Scout leader. Vish was also very dedicated to his work and loved the many friends and colleagues he worked with. He was a very generous soul and always there to mentor others in all facets of his life, at work, at home, on the soccer field, or on the ski slope. Of course Alta Utah was his favorite place on earth which is why he chose to live in Salt Lake City.
Please join us in a casual gathering to celebrate his life on Sunday evening the 11th day of August, 2013 at 7:30 pm at the Albion Grill 10520 East Day Lodge Road Alta, UT 84092 at the Alta Ski Resort.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. I was shocked and saddened to learn today of his untimely passing. I knew Vish professionally, having worked with him as a customer over the past few years. He was a kind and caring individual, the type of person you really appreciate knowing and associating with. The Salt Lake community has lost a kind and talented contributor. May you find peace in the knowledge of his many friends, passions, and accomplishments.

Upon meeting my sister Jane at Ohio State in the late 70's, Vishnu would visit our family in Blanchester, Ohio to check in on all of Jane's family including all 8 younger siblings. Most college kids couldn't have been bothered but Vish knew something important about every one of us, every time he visited. His smile could light up a room. I see Vishnu must've never lost his kind and loving ways even after life's trials sometimes change those of lesser character than Vish.

I met Vishnu in high school, in study hall I think. And, later, we were in the same Driver's Ed car learning to drive on the icy streets of Columbus. I am saddened by the news of his untimely passing, and I will miss him, even though I haven't seen him since high school. My deepest sympathies to his family and all who loved him.

Sheila and family,
It is with great sadness we are writing this. Vish was one of those people that you met and he stayed in your heart forever. Words can not express what we fill in our hearts. We have always missed the pre-season ski parties from the old IPP days. My our "GOD" wrap his loving arms around your family at this time.
