William Greene Obituary

William F. Greene "Bill" Devoted husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather and trusted friend passed away March 25, 2009.Bill was born November 20, 1919 to William C. and Marie Greene. He married the love of his life Naomi Quist on March 14, 1940. They had three loving children and later had the opportunity to raise two grandchildren. He was a man who wore many hats. The hat of the Patriarch who loved to oversee his "Clan". He wore a soldier's hat as he faithfully served his country in World War II. He was a well respected businessman who owned Cottonwood Egg Farms, was business manager of Accurate Ready Mix and retired as business manager of Intermountain Quarter Horse Association. He proudly wore a Utes hat as he sang, "Utah Man Am I." With a jig in his step he wore a Santa Hat and delighted his family each Christmas Eve. He donned the hat of a true gentleman cowboy, truly the last of his kind. He had the unique gift of a master story teller who would capture your attention by the sparkle in his eye. Yet, he was a kind and sensitive listener whose wisdom and advice has blessed the lives of those around him. He is survived by his dedicated wife Naomi, daughters Marie Jex, Letty Coy (Kurt) and son Bruce Greene. eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Newman, her hospice staff and Dr. Richard Whittington for their thoughtful care, and of course his dedicated Nurse Kratchet. In lieu of flowers please send a contribution to a charity of your choice in Bill's memory. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 1950 E. 10600 S. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 4-6 p.m. Online condolences at www.larkincares.com "Until we meet again."

Dear Naomi, Our love and sympathy to you and your family at this time of mourning. But from experience, we know that Bill will be very close to you and you will feel of his presence many times.
We are friends and neighbors from long ago in the Cottonwood area where we grew up together. What a choice place to grow up. Looking through some old pictures last month, I came across a picture of your Mother and my heart remembered many wonderful times and happy events.
Even though life has taken us all in different directions and we have lost track of each other, we still remember you and send you our love.

I got to know Bill at Accurate Ready Mix. He would always come into the office cheerful and ready to work. He was the life of the office. Customers loved him. He always made me feel comfortable and happy too. I admired his willingness to help make the business successful. He was kind and treated me with respect. I always felt like he was a good friend. He will be missed.

Dear Letty, Kurt and Family,

What an amazing man! We did not have the pleasure of meeting Bill, but his life as the very special daddy to Letty, as she shared treasured moments with him, was very real to us. He had to be an incredible man to have help raise such an amazing and fun daughter! Her eyes told the story of a very special man when she would speak of him. Thank you, Bill for the gift of your daughter and her family. They are truly a blessing to us and a testament of a life well lived! God bless you all and comfort you and your mother during this difficult time.
We love you,
Frank and Michelle Jones

I always looked forward to family gatherings when Grandpa Greene was going to be in attendance. I could always count on him for some amazing stories and a strong drink. I will miss our conversations but I am blessed to have the memories he gave to me. I feel fortunate to be a part of his family.
Love you.

I was Great Grandpa's Greene little Ute girl back in the day. We had so much fun. I use to say "Go da Utes! Go da Utes!" and Grandpa would just laugh. I won't forget your laugh and I love you very much.
