It surely doesn't seem like four years has gone by since Bill's passing from this earth life. I was just thinking about our experiences together during his tenure at Utah Valley University and although that tremendous growth period was a trying time for all of us Bill's determination to take his job serious no matter what blocks were put in his way is a tribute to his tenacity and metal. I wasn't able to get to know his family but know that they are missing him a little bit more this time of the year. May God's blessing be with his family and I know he is enjoying a different type of aeronautical experience as he soars among the angels of heaven.

Working with Bill at Westminster was always a pleasure and sometimes a surprise. I admired the dedication he displayed to all of the students, even the ones who could try the patience of Job. In my opinion he made his final final approach way too soon. My condolences and sympathy go out to his dear family.

Dearest Sue and family,
I was so sad to hear of Bills sudden passing. We have missed you across the street from us! I know how much Galen enjoyed serving with Bill in the young men's. Galen also enjoyed his friendship, going on a couple of outings together, visiting about many things and Galen appreciated his kindness through his cancer! Sue, you have been so kind to me through my trials, I wish I could be of service to you! If you ever need a listening ear I am available. I send my love and my fervent prayers that you'll have the peace and support that will sustain you through the days and nights ahead! I'm sorry I didn't hear about your loss until after the fact. Love Susan

I am still reeling from the shock of this unexpected news. I will miss seeing Bill every day at work, I will miss his consistently positive attitude, the way he sought out advice about classes, how he cared about always doing the right thing, and the way he put students first in every possible way. I can't imagine how many things will trigger memories of him and remind me how much he is missed.

I also cannot imagine losing my life partner at such a young age and in such an unexpected way. My prayers and deepest sympathies are with Sue and the whole family. May you feel at peace knowing what a positive force Bill was in this world. I know you look forward to rejoining him in the next.

I have had the pleasure of Bill's instruction both in the airplane and in class. He had such an influence on me that one of his various Bill Olgilvie-Catch-Phrases is now commonly spoken in my household by not only me but my wife also! I am very sorry to hear of his passing. He will be greatly missed by many.

A glider flight I had with Bill in May 2013... He flew while I took pictures.

Bill was probably the kindest professor in our aviation faculty at Westminster, taught most of our classes, and put in so much time and effort into our NIFA team, staying way later than he had to to help. He was always there ready to answer any questions no one else could, and we used to have long discussions in his office over these topics. We both really enjoyed it. His knowledge and wisdom and love for his students was what touched the lives of so many of us at Westminster... We will all miss you dearly, Bill.

I personally am sorry to hear of Bill's passing. We worked together at UVU where he was one of my chief instructors during a peak period of growth. He was very active and it was a shock for all of us to hear of his death. RIP my friend and you surely are in a better place.

Bill and I met in 1973 in Private Pilot ground school offered by our respective high schools. 30+ years later, Bill finally prepared me for that check ride I didn't take back then and recently we were preparing to start my training to add a Glider rating. You will be missed, my friend.

Sue and family, please accept my condolences on this sudden separation from your beloved husband and father. May the peace of our Savior's atonement comfort you and remind you that we will be together again.

It was a pleasure to know Bill, both as Sue's cousin, and as a fellow Air Force Officer. I was privileged to be stationed with Bill and Susan at Offutt AFB in Omaha, and again here in Utah County when Bill taught at UVSC. Touch the Face of God for me, Bill.

Bill was my flight instructor at Utah Valley. He was such an amazing instructor and taught me more than any instructor. He helped me obtain my flight instructor certificate. I remember when we were going flying for spin training he brought ginger candy so it would help with the queasy stomach! My condolences to Bill's family he will surely be missed be all and the aviation community.
