WILMA PLATTS Obituary

Wilma Ruth (Clark) Platts 1933 ~ 2009 NORTH SALT LAKE - Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and the light of our lives returned home to her Heavenly Father on December 8, 2009.Wilma was born May 4, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to loving parents, William Joseph Clark and Doris Ruth Ronneburg. On August 21, 1953, Wilma married the love of her life D. Ray Platts in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their vows were solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on August 21, 1973. Wilma was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She loved the Gospel, and exemplified the life and teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ. She warmed the hearts of all those who spent time with her. Much like a lighthouse, her love and radiance will continue to serve as a beacon to guide us. Our hearts now have a vacant spot, but we know the true meaning of love because of her example and unconditional devotion. Wilma was a true sports fan and never missed a chance to watch and cheer for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in whatever they did. She also enjoyed many hours watching football with her husband and to cheer on their favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings. Wilma is survived by her loving husband, Ray; two children, Karen (Robert) Burnham; Kyle (Julie) Platts; five grandchildren, Michael, Alex, Aimee, Clay, and Trevor; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Ron Clark. The family would like to express their gratitude to the excellent staff of the Lakeview Hospital and to Hillary with Aspire Hospice for the loving care she gave in those last few hours. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Orchard 3rd Ward Chapel, 261 East Center Street, North Salt Lake. The family will greet friends on Sunday at the Larkin Funeral Home, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:45-1045 prior to the services on Monday at the church. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.larkincares.com

Hi Wilma: You will be missed more than you really think of, I can remenber the real good times we had as kids mostly when we live in Linda Vista, California, Like the time when we lived on Kelly St. Linda Vista, Cal. and I just got a new trike and we were going down the hill on it I was on the seat you were standing on the back and I put my feet on the pedals and yep you shoot right over the top of me I nosed over and we both got up and said that was fun. You stood in line when Elaine and I got married, When Elaine and I had health problems you were always there supportlng us, You were there for Mom when she was so sick for years. Way back when I joined the Navy you and Great guy you Married Ray, I always had a place to go when I had liberty, You and Ray both were at the time my ship went overseas, When Elaine and I visited you a few years later, and we were on our way home my kids keep saying nice doggie, Yes your dog was in my car. You will be missed Wilma, Now that you are with Mom, Dad, and our older sister Doris say Hi to them for Elaine and I, And please watch over Ray, your kids, grandkids like always have. Love and I will miss you, your little brother Ron or maybe as you wanted my name Davie .
