null Norma Obituary

SCHNEIDER-HARBORTH
Norma Schneider-Harborth went home to be with the LORD on January 31, 2009 at the age of 87. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 38 years, Ray P. Schneider; second husband, Milton F. Harborth; brothers, Arnold, Elton and Lester Aschenbeck. She was a dedicated civil servant at Lackland and Kelly Air Force bases for over 20 years, winning many awards. She was also an active member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church for over 60 years having served on virtually every committee possible. She was forever giving of herself, loved to help the less fortunate and knew no stranger. Her home was always open to the young men serving our country, especially during the holidays; an accomplished seamstress, she sewed countless numbers of wedding gowns as gifts and she could never be constrained by such trivial things as speed limits or driving lanes. She was passionate about her dancing and was able to dance well into her 80's, although few were able to keep up with her. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Kiris and her husband, Al; sons, Kenneth (Dutch) Schneider and his wife, Deborah; Kevyn Schneider and his wife, Cindy of Magnolia, TX; grandchildren; Cherie Kane and husband, James of Fulshear, TX; Shannon McKelvey and husband, Yogi; Jamie McNair; Brenda Wright; Eva Schneider; Shane Schneider and wife Amy of Sanger, California; Lauren, Hannah, Christina and Joshua Schneider of Magnolia, TX; nine great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; brother, Marvin Aschenbeck and wife, Venonia; sisters Loyce Schroeder and husband, Vernal; Edna Werner; Erla Krueger of Seguin, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, on Sunday, February 1, 2009 from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 2, 2009 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Interment at San Fernando Cemetery #3. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank all of the people from VistaCare Hospice who looked after her. We will be eternally grateful for the extraordinary, loving, compassionate and Christian manner in which they delivered her care. Please contribute loving comments and photos to the online memorial at www.TexasGermans.org. and you may also sign the online guestbook at www.missionparks.com, under the obituary section.

To the beautiful Family of Norma I will always remember how sweet she was. Norma always had words of encouragement she was always so positive. When her mother was still living their was never a day that went by that she did not call her just to say Gutten Tag or Gutten Abend. Norma was a remarkable lady in every way. Auf Wiedersehen. You will be missed. I thought of you often.

To the family of Norma..
My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone. Ive known Norma for most of my childhood life. As a child I called her and Ray my adpoted grandparents. She was well loved! They were also my oldest daughter,Tabatha,Godparents. She was a loving person with a huge heart. I can see her now visiting with my grandmother, Mrs. B(Baumgartner) and talking about Mt.Olive or sewing. God be with you all through this time.
