Aleen Franka Obituary
Aleen Schueneman Franka, 85, died Thursday, November 3, 2005. Mrs. Franka was born February 21,1920, in Weesatche, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Edward Florian "Edd" Franka. She is survived by three children, Floyd E. Franka, of Bastrop, TX, Roselyn A. and her husband Roy I. Smith, Jr., of College Station, TX, and John G. and his wife Suzanne K. Franka of Austin, TX; sister, Doris Lassiter, of Bastrop, TX; grandchildren, Steven C. and his wife Jenny Franka, Darryl E. Franka, R. Stephen Smith, David B. and his wife Jan Worley, and Susan K. Worley, Dr. J. Christopher Franka, Kimberly S. Franka; Step-Grandchildren Patrick and his wife Cathryn Shanahan, Kathleen Shanahan, Christine Shanahan; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Aleen moved to San Antonio at a very young age to seek employment. She and Edd met and were married in 1938. Aleen led a very active life serving as a Girl Scout Leader, High School Band Booster Club Leader, Church Sunday School teacher, and was active in other Church activities. She loved children and served as a foster parent for many children over the years. She had a life long love of gardening, especially flowers. An avid domino player, she had difficulty finding someone to follow her after her well thought out plays. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7, 2005 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 10:00 AM at Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church, 2515 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX, with Pastor Ronald Windecker officiating. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78257. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church, 2515 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218.
