Alfonso Lopez Obituary
Alfonso Lopez born August 1, 1920 in Alba, TX was called to be with the Lord on September 17, 2014 at the age of 94. He was a World War II, Korean War Veteran, and lifetime member of VFW Post 9186. He retired from Civil Service at Ft. Sam Houston where he worked as a radio operator. He was a devout member of St. Stephen's Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Espiridion and Antonia Lopez and sister, Tomasa Lopez. He is survived by his wife, Josefina Lopez; children, Maria Saenz, Josephine Ramirez (Ricardo), Fernando Lopez (Celia), Juan Lopez, Susan Lopez (Tony) and Sara Galindo (Marcus); 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Pedro Lopez (Juanita); also, numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Trevino Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Procession will depart from the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 for an 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Stephen's.
