Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. For those of us that were military communicators and amateur radio operators the term "silent key" is a telegraph key that no longer sends or receives message traffic. Al your key may be silent today but your sense of humor, the great conversations we all had with you and your sincere friendship will always be remembered. Fair winds and following seas. To the Bacon Family,
My prayers go out to you at this time. Col. Bacon was truly a friend and Marine buddy. I worked with him at WTBN MTU Rifle and Pistol Team, and on the USMC Distinguished Shooters Association. If I ever had a question or needed advice he was there for me. He was very helpful to me while a was the Pistol Manager at NRA. He will be missed, Semper Fi, Al...Vaya con Dios.

Jeariene -
I learned of Al's passing today and wish to express my deepest sympathy. No words will bring you comfort - that comes in knowing he is with the Lord. I will tell you time will ease your pain and your sadness. The one Bible verse that sustained me when Mark passed away was "Be still and know that I am God". I will keep you and the girls in my prayers.

Remember
Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
