Allen Dockery Obituary
He was born in San Marcos, TX to Alvin Allen and Laura Etta Wheeler Dockery.
After graduating from Carrizo Springs High School, he attended Rice University on a football scholarship before joining the United States Marine Corps. He served in Korea before becoming a gunnery sergeant. After serving his country he returned to studies and football at the University of Texas in Austin. After graduating from the University of TX, he joined the family ranching business.
He met and married Jacqueline Mills in 1959. They lived in Catarina, TX before moving to Carrizo Springs, TX to raise their two sons. They moved to Bulverde, TX where he continued ranching before retiring.
Allen was devoted to his surviving family: Sons and daughters-in-laws Kimberly and John Brant Dockery of Bulverde, TX; Holly and Allen W. Dockery, Jr. of Cypress, TX; grandchildren Marlee Kay and Makenzie Lee Dockery, Benjamin Logan and Andrew Allen Dockery. Allen also enjoyed the blessings of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends; especially Beverly John Lebherz.
Mr. Dockery was proceeded in death by his parents, Alvin Allen and Laura Etta Wheeler Dockery, his sister, Joann Ward and his beloved wife, Jacqueline Mills Dockery.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78257.
