Anita Cortez Obituary
Anita Janet Cortez, ( Perla Tapatia) born August 17, 1931 went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2014 at the age of 83. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank G. Cortez and Anita S. Antonin, and biological mother Edna Criddle Perkins. She is survived by her lifelong partner Marie A, Torres, sister, Ruth Cortez, Diana Cortez, brothers, John Cortez (Lexus), Earl Perkins, Claude Perkins, Carroll Perkins (Jane), O'Leary Cortez (Janie), Frank Cortez (Mila), Lloyd Cortez, sister in law Maria I. Cortez, and numerous nieces and nephews. She retired from Ft. Sam Houston after 23 years, she was also a member of Las Tesoros de San Antonio. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services:Visitation will be held Friday, August 29, 2014 from 5PM to 9PM with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church at 10AM, family and friends will depart the funeral home at 9:30, followed by the burial she will rest at Mission Burial Park South. In Luie of flowers the family wishes donations be made to the Memorial Fund of Anita J. Cortez at PO BOX
10019 San Antonio, Texas 78210.

There is a beautiful bright new Star in the Heavens above! I will always remember Janet's smile and how she touched the Lives of so very many people through her Music and her most expressive Songs.
