She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David Murray Moore and Barbara Moore, and three grandchildren, David Michael, Carolyn Amy and Antoinette "Toni" Marie Moore. Born in San Antonio, August 10, 1916, Antoinette moved to Gonzalez, TX in 1925 with her family. She graduated from Gonzales High School in 1933 as her class valedictorian and received her BA from Our Lady of the Lake University in 1937 and a Masters Degree in English from the University of Texas at Austin in 1940. After teaching for two years she returned to OLLU as the first full-time student in what would become its Worden School of Social Service. At the end of the first year of the two year Masters program, Antoinette was offered a scholarship to Northwestern University to complete her Masters. She turned down the scholarship to marry Army Air Corps Lt. Raymond Murray Moore in June, 1943. The marriage lasted ten years. In 1953, with her two children, Antoinette returned to San Antonio to begin a long career as a teacher of Latin and English at Jefferson High School. In 1965, she received another Masters Degree from OLLU and finished her career as a counselor at Lowell Middle School and teacher at San Antonio College, retiring in 1977. Antoinette was a long-time member of Alpha Delta Kappa serving that organization in many offices through the years including president. She considered her many long-time friends as beloved as family, as they, in turn, did her. She is best remembered as "Mom' and "Grammie" and spent the last days of her life in the comfort of her home near her son and daughter-in-law and her three grandchildren. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Maria Estela Macias, Margaret Escobedo, Janie Escalante and Erica Lance who provided round-the-clock care to Antoinette in the last months of her life allowing her the peace, comfort, and dignity of dying in her home near those who loved her the most.
