Arthur Benedetti Obituary

Arthur Benedetti, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of 19 September 2005, at the age of 77. Born in San Antonio on 28 June 1928 to Louis and Stella Benedetti, he is survived by his loving wife, Clara; daughter Linda Bachmeier (Richard); son Arthur Jr.; grandchildren Kimberly Thrower (Paul), Shannon Sutton (Jamie), Richard III 'Donny' Bachmeier, and Stefani Bachmeier; great-grandchildren Reagan and Logan; his brother Daniel (Ruby); his sister Jennie Fuller; and their families. Arthur served with the United States Navy from 1945 to 1949 where his unit participated in the Bikini Atoll Atomic Blasts of 1946. He received the World War II Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the China Service Medal before being honorably discharged. His career began in the San Antonio Fire Department in 1950, where he served for 42 years before retiring in 1992. A man who lived life to the fullest and enriched the lives of others through his generosity, thoughtfulness and humor will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Services Visitation will be at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive, 2pm to 5pm, Wednesday 21 September. Rosary Service will be at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 700 Dewhurst, Wednesday 21 September 7:00 pm and Funeral Mass at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, Thursday 22 September 9:30 am with interment to follow at Ft.
