Arthur Allen Wilkins passed from this life on June 18, 2021 surrounded by loved ones at his son's house in Fair Oaks Ranch, at the age of 90.
(from Mike) My dad was simply my hero in all aspects of life. One could not have asked for a better father, grandfather, husband, and friend.
Dad and mom (Joyce) were very happily married for over 60 years before mom passed away 5 years ago. I cannot express how deeply blessed I have been to have had such loving and wonderful parents.
Dad played golf his entire life and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent on the course with his close friends Dale Daugherty, John Dobbs, Bob Chapman, and countless others (sorry – I'm sure I'm leaving folks out). He was able to enjoy golf almost up to the time of his passing. While not golfing, he spent several days a week volunteering at First Tee San Antonio, teaching children golf and life skills in general. His work career spanned decades at Thermal Supply (wholesale AC supply) starting in Houston, transferring to San Antonio in 1964, and retiring in 1998 after 43 years with the company. He met life-long friends during his career and kept up with them thru retirement.
He would often help his friends and neighbors with air conditioning issues throughout the almost 60 years spent at his current residence. Other hobbies and interests included fishing and woodworking. He will be deeply missed by all he touched. Dad – you truly won the game of life!
