2021
After a courageous battle with cancer, Avis Erline Russell, 71, has gone Home to Heaven.
She passed, true to her word, on her terms, surrounded by her loving family, peacefully in her home on June 20th , 2021 in San Antonio, TX.
Known affectionately by many as Erline, or Enie, she was born on September 4th, 1949, in Nixon, Texas to Ernest Errol and Virgie Viola Cone.
A free spirit, and a rebel at heart, she had many adventures that shall remain for those who lived it with her.
Erline's career was spent as a medical transcriptionist; a majority of her time with the Methodist Hospital system and STRIC.
However, her children were her proudest and greatest accomplishment; Tamara Cone-Upton, Melissa, Michael, and Russell Ramos. As a mother, there was no comparison. "Memaw", a beloved grandmother, was cherished by her granddaughters: Sean Chandler (Upton), Grace and Addison Ramos.
She is survived by her four children and their spouses, granddaughters, sister Joy Scheel, Brother-in-Law, Douglas, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
Her sarcastic wit, and infectious smile, will be missed beyond measure by all that knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 2nd, 2021, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas at 11 am.
The Reverend Michael Cowey will officiate.
