Berta Vara Obituary
On Wednesday October 22, 2008 Berta Rosas Vara passed away at the age of 85. She was born on March 8, 1923 in Piedras Negras ,Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Domingo Vara Sr.; her parents Miguel and Manuela Rosas, and beloved grandson, Devin Gregory Vara. Berta is survived by her sisters, Micaela Gonzalez, and Manuela Scott; her children, Domingo Vara Jr(Rose), Robert Vara(Lupe), Martin Vara(Jessica),Miguel Vara, Nora Munoz, Olivia Garcia, and Oralia Cepeda; her precious 22 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. She will never be forgotten and will live in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank Vistas Hospice Care, and Pat Williams who took great care of her. A celebration of our mother's life will begin with a visitation at 5pm Friday October 24, 2008 at Trevino Funeral Home, and a rosary will be recited at 7pm this same evening. A procession will depart the funeral home at 11:30 am Saturday October 25, 2008 to celebrate a 12noon Holy Mass of Resurrection at San Juan De Los Lagos Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando II Catholic Cemetery. All services under the direction of:

My sympathy and prayers go to the Vara Family. Berta was part of our neighborhood for many years. She was such a wonderful person. Her smile, advice, love were all part of our growing up on Vera Cruz Street. She will always live in my heart and memories. She will be missed.
