Boren Wagner Obituary

August 26, 1956 - May 20, 2016
Boren Lee "Bodie" Wagner died May 20, 2016 from complications of cardiac issues he had most of his life. Bodie is survived by his children Sarah Jo Wagner and Sam Wagner, his brothers Michael Wagner and Paul Wagner and his sisters Diane Hutchinson, Laurie Rush and Cathy Schindler and their mother Gloria Wagner. There are many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends left to treasure his memory. Thank you to his girlfriend, Janet Deitchle Mace, for being a loving part of his life these past three years.
Bodie was born on August 26, 1956 in Corpus Christi to Kenneth and Theo Wagner. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1974 where he played football and baseball. He loved being outdoors and worked at several golf courses in San Antonio and Bandera and managed the athletic fields for the Bandera Sports Complex. He continued to work hard even as his health deteriorated.
Bodie never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He was funny, kind, compassionate and deeply faithful to God. His final act of giving was participating in the Willed Body Program at the UT Health Science Center. Bodie did not want a memorial service, but wished that when any of his friends are together, they share a few "Bodie stories". There are many! Bodie's companion, Carlos the Wonder Dog, encourages you to make a donation to the animal shelter in your area or even better, adopt a shelter pet.

My prayers are with all who loved Bodie...the first time I met him (many years ago) he brought fake ants & roaches and left them in the bathroom and living room of my home. Sarah & Sam - just know that he loved you guys; I am so sorry he left this world so soon.
