Carol Jung
August 18, 1939 - October 4, 2025
Carol Evangeline Warnken Jung, born in Poth, Texas to Charles and Ethel Warnken, Carol was the last of 4 siblings: Charles, Catherine and Crystal. She was a force of nature who didn't want to miss out on anything! She blazed a trail through her 4 years at Poth High School, where she not only captained basketball and played volleyball, tennis and softball but was also both a band member and a majorette. In addition, she was class President, treasurer and reporter, an actress and a Dutchess of many dances and Homecoming. Her outgoing and never-met-a-stranger personality earned her the title of Most Popular both Junior and Senior years!
Following a brief social work job in Houston, Carol began over 30 years of teaching. In 1965 she began her most cherished role as wife to Clayton and mother to Audra, Jared, and Derek. When her children began school, she returned to teaching Grades K-3rd. During the summer break there was a traditional vacation to Rockport with family, friends, and relatives. After Clayton's passing she retired and continued teaching with classroom reading and by writing children's books for her grandchildren Taylor, Courtney, Meghan, Rebecca and Rachel. Carol's beloved pets...including a cat named 'It'sahe', a dog named 'Littlebit' and a goat named 'Kneepad'...inspired her stories. Her travel with friends and family, beginning in her teens, took her all around the world. From Australia, Brazil, Europe and the Holy Land she saw the sights! She loved learning and traveling as much as teaching. Perhaps her best lesson to us all was in living a faithful and fearless life, full of gratitude.
A lifelong lover of music and devout Catholic, Carol was a member of the St. Peter's choir in Boerne. She received incredible grace in her final years and passing. She is now reunited with Clayton, after 28 full years, along with her siblings and parents.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to all the angelic staff at Silverado Southlake Memory Care. Carol was loved by all there and affectionately called 'Mom.' The Silverado community is truly an amazing model of professionalism and compassion. Carol loved her time there! Thank you to all our friends and family who have supported us. We look forward to welcoming you at a celebration of Carol's life and funeral services at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Poth, Texas on Monday October 13, 2025.
