Carol Menezes Obituary
June 28, 1940 - February 2, 2025
Carol Anne (née Kogut) Menezes departed this world peacefully on February 2, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Wakefield, Rhode Island Carol was a graduate of the Univ of Rhode Island where she met and married fellow URI grad and officer in the US Army, Ernest Menezes. They soon welcomed sons Michael and Scott. Besides living in RI, the family was stationed in WA, Germany, GA, Uruguay, Panama, finally settling in San Antonio, TX. Carol initially taught elementary school and subsequently worked at the Social Security Admin in San Antonio from which she retired in 1996.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Alexander & Mary "Mae" (Reynolds) Kogut, and her stepmother Barbara (Smith) Kogut. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, her loving sons Michael, and Scott (wife Janine), loving grandchildren Ryan, Katherine, and Zachary, dedicated sister Donna Kiernan, nieces, nephews, family, friends, and her devoted caregiver, Emily Sperber.
A funeral mass will be held in the Day Chapel at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Boerne, TX Mar 3, 9:30am. Carol will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston Natl Cemetery in San Antonio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the San Antonio Humane Society.
