Catherine Sauri Obituary
Dr. Catherine Jo "Cathy" Varga Sauri, M.D. age 67, of Helotes, passed away Sept. 10, 2012 in Austin. Cathy was born March 22, 1945 in San Antonio, to the late Joseph and Chloris Belzung Varga. Dr. Sauri was head of Family Practice at Ft. Sam Houston Medical Center. In 1963 she graduated from Ramey High School in Puerto Rico. She was a 1966 graduate of University of Texas with a BS in Microbiology. In 1983 she earned a Masters of Public Health at UTHSC in Houston. She received her Medical Degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1987. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Marc and Sarah Sauri of Cedar Park; grandchildren, Morgan Sauri and Ethan Sauri; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Eva Varga of Driftwood, sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Ted Jenkins of Granbury; nieces and nephews, Michelle (Danny) Keller, Andrew (Karissa) Varga, Harlan (Shana) Jenkins, Bryce Jenkins and Josh Jenkins; aunts, Rae Burell and Helen Glaser; 6 grand nieces and nephews. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. The Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery of Helotes. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her memory to the charity of your choice. Arrangements with Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. I worked with Dr. Sauri at BAMC, Troop Medical Clinic. She was a great Doctor. May she rest in peace. My prayers go out to all family members. God Bless.

I worked with Dr. Sauri in the Family Practice clinic. She was a brillent and caring doctor. Her patients adored her, I could see close relationship with them. I know she will be greatly missed by all who know her.

Dr. Sauri was our primary care physcian and a good friend. She attended the weddings of our daughters and was always available when needed. May she rest in peace and may the good Lord bless her family.
