Charles Blount Obituary

Charles Ray Blount, 78, of San Antonio, passed away on December 12, 2023, in Rockport, TX. He was born on January 1, 1945, to Monroe Blount and Annie Notzon-Blount in San Antonio. Charlie was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy. He will be deeply missed by his son Andrew, grandson Thomas Fisher, and a large extended family including brothers and sisters-in-laws, William Vernon (Loraine) Blount, Jim Blount, John (Brenda) Blount, Pat Lee, Marilyn (Ron) Johnson, brother-in-law Ronald Reininger, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Charlie attended Central Catholic High School, graduating in 1963. Following his education, Charlie proudly served in the United States Army. After his military service, Charlie embarked on a successful career at USAA, where he dedicated 21 years as a purchasing agent before retiring in 2001.
Outside of his professional life, Charlie had a passion for fishing, was an avid reader, loved animals, enjoyed attending garage sales in Rockport and immersing himself in the wonders of nature. He was everyone's best friend and had an unwavering love for his family.
A service to celebrate Charlie's life will be held on January 3rd at 12:00 p.m., at Funeral Care USA, located at 9315 Broadway in San Antonio. Following the service he will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery at 2:15 p.m., 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Home in memory of Charlie.
