Dear Emma and Family, My prayers and heartfelt sympathy to you at this time of loss. Clem was truly a man of God who lived for family and for others - always there to assist anyone. I was truly grateful for his wisdom and assistance during my years at Blessed Sacrament during the 1970's. All of you, especially you, dear Emma, are in my prayer.
With loving sympathy,

Emma, Yvonne and I extend our deepest condolences to you and your family. We have truly lost One of the Greatest from the “Greatest Generation”. Blessed Sacrament has lost a tremendous Icon. Our prayers for you and your family are that the blessings and the words of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you and sustain you in your time of sorrow. Clem will always live in hearts.

May all be comforted by
the wonderful hope:
“And he will wipe away every
tear from their eyes and death
will be no more. Neither
mourning nor outcry nor pain
be anymore. The former things
have passed away”

Blessings to the entire Spalding Family, my heart was saddened to hear of the loss of your dear father Clem. The many memories that we have from our younger years are Gods precious seeds that were sown for a time such as this: to cherish and hold in our minds and most importantly in our hearts. Thank you Clem for your loving kindness and being such a beloved true friend to my parents. May God continue to bless your beautiful family. In His Holy Name Laurie A Lamoureux

I first met Clem when he represented USAA at one of the insurance committes I chaired at Insurance Serevices Office. At first I thought he was bit quiet & unassuming. That he was but he knew his insurance & always contributed. Very soon all of us came to respect his views. Not just USAA but the entire industry benefited from his knowledge.
As time went on Clem & I and our spouses became good friends & enjoyed traveling to industry meetings all over the country. Especially in San Antonio. Unfortunately, my wife passed away 9 years ago so our contact drifted apart.
I will never forget his kindness & concern for everyone he meet.
Sincerely,
Richard B. Dorsch
PS: He was very fortunate to have Emma as his spouse.
