Dalys Carreon Obituary

Dalys Oderay Herrera Ramos De Carreon, born on November 6, 1934, in the vibrant heart of Panama City, Panama, passed away in San Antonio, Texas, on May 30, 2025. A life rich with purpose and love, Dalys was a cherished soul who embraced everyone she met with warmth and kindness.
Her journey through life was marked by a dedication to her work, as she served with pride in the Department of Immigration. In this role, she not only fulfilled her professional responsibilities but also extended compassion and understanding to those around her. Dalys understood the importance of every person's story and worked tirelessly to ensure that each individual was treated with dignity. Here she met her husband, Daniel, who was in the United States Army and had just arrived in Panama. They were married for 65 years!
Education was a cornerstone of her life, with formative years spent in both Panama City and the charming city of Colón in Panama. Dalys cherished her Panamanian roots, and they remained with her throughout her life, shaping her into the loving and welcoming person she became.
Dalys's legacy is one of heartfelt connections. Friends and family alike knew her as someone who always had an open door and an open heart. Her warmth drew people in, and her laughter brought joy to those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered not only for her generosity of spirit but also for her unwavering support of those she loved.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Priciliano and Juana Rosa Ramos; her brother, Ricardo "Chi-Chi" Grosso; and her sisters, Maria Esther Grimaldo, and Anice Gomez.
Dalys is survived by her husband, Daniel; sons, Daniel Carreon Jr., Richard Carreon; daughter, Maria Helena (Maggie) Stutz; and granddaughters, Delayne Danielle Carreon (Danny), Christina Dalys Carreon (Richard), and Becca Danielle Stutz (Maggie); Brother, Moises Darwish (Clarita) of Panama, and numerous nieces and nephews in Colon City and Panama City, Panama.
As we reflect on Dalys's life, we hold her memory dear and carry forward the lessons of love and kindness that she so effortlessly imparted. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her.
