David Walker
June 12, 1940 - February 16, 2026
David Walker, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and neighbor passed away on February 16, 2026 at the age of 85.
Born June 12,1940 to Jack and Virginia Walker, David graduated from East Washington High School in 1958 and earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree from Waynesburg College.
He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force on May 7,1963 and served a distinguished 24 year career before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel on March 3, 1987.
While stationed in Germany in 1965, David met Diana Waddington of England. David and Diana married in 1966 and shared nearly six decades together, raising two children, Marc and Michele.
He later served as City Administrator of Cibolo from May 1987 through October 1993 and worked as the Director of Facilities at the Air Force Village for 8 years until his full retirement on July 26, 2002.
David was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack N. Walker. He is survived by wife Diana Walker of Schertz, TX; son Marc Walker and spouse Tammy Walker of Schertz, TX; daughter Michele Mierzejewski and spouse John Mierzejewski of Garden City, NY; and brother Phillip R. Walker of Washington, PA; grand children Ashley, Tyler (AnnaMaria), Brett (Harmony), Madison, Nicholas, Luke and 8 great grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held at Schertz Funeral home from 5:00-8:00pm on March 9, 2026 with the funeral on March 10, 2026 at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery, Shelter 5, at 2:45 pm.
