Dixie Lee Rossi (Brown), aged 87, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Born on March 13, 1936, in Los Angeles, CA, she lived a life marked by warmth and sociability, touching the lives of many with her outgoing and caring nature.

Dixie dedicated 64 years as a loving wife to Melvin Rossi and was a devoted mother to her children, Linda Marks, Janet Burton, the late Michael Rossi, and Luigi Francis Shorty Rossi. Her parents, Harry Stevens and Mary Brown, preceded her in death.

Known for her vibrant social butterfly personality, Dixie cherished her roles within her family and community. She was an avid collector, with a particular passion for Elvis memorabilia and E.T. collectibles, and she held a deep love for animals.

The family will hold a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shorty's Rescue (www.shortysrescue.org) or the San Antonio Humane Society, causes close to Dixie's heart.

Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary in Fountain Hills, AZ, is assisting the family with arrangements. Dixie's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, as she leaves behind a lasting imprint of kindness and love.

My parents knew Sonny and Dixie, they all went to car shows together. They both were some of my favorite people growing up. I found one of Sonny's old business cards the other day. Both of my parents are gone, this hurts just the same. Condolences to her family and friends.

I never knew your mother, but from reading her memorial her love for animals makes her a very special person in my heart. I have such fond memories of Dixie from my childhood growing up in the Los Angeles LPA Chapter. She & Mel used to play cards with my grandparents and a few of the other couples who were active in the Chapter. Dixie was always so friendly and fashionable and would take the time to talk to me about my shoes and jewelry, she never made me feel like an annoying little kid. I missed her after they moved away to TX. I am truly saddened for her family.
