Doris Mae Boerner Uhl went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2024 at her home in Mico, Texas at age 93. She was born May 3, 1931 in Comfort, Texas to Edgar A. F. Boerner and Margaret Pauline Below Boerner.
Doris graduated from Fox Tech High School in San Antonio and worked as a secretary for the Continuing Education Program at Fox Tech. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher and became a member and officer of several plant and garden clubs in San Antonio and the surrounding area. She was also a volunteer at the Castroville Public Library for many years.
Survivors: daughters, Leah Mechler and Myra Schneider (Robert); sons, Duane Uhl (Mary) and Rodney Uhl (Lisa Danhof); 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Uhl; son, Walter Uhl; and infant brother, Alton Boerner.
Visitation: 5-7 pm, Wednesday, August 14th, Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 10 am, Thursday, August 15th, Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home. Interment: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Castroville.

Doris was part of my family's life for many, many years when I was a child. She worked as the assistant to my Dad, Bob Dalglish. Doris was always loving and helpful. We visited her family at their home outside of Castroville and played/swam with her and Marvin's children. Later, when I moved out of San Antonio to Medina County near Castroville, I would see her at Fiorella Fridays and we would share stories and memories. It has been a few years now since I last saw her but I have thought of Doris fondly and often. My memories of Doris will always fill me with great love and respect.
