i feel bad just now putting this in, but i just found out today about the loss of a good man and i could not believe this. wayne was my boss when the CFA opened up. he taught me a lot about the business aspects of running a store. he had a good personality, and with janell by his side no matter what they did, they always wanted to make sure the crew knew how much they wanted and still want them to succeed in life and anything they had put their mind to they were able to make it happen. they just had to have the confidence to make it happen. i can remember so many things they had done for everyone there at the store there are just too many to list. these memories i will keep with me forever.
my thoughts to the family and everyone who knew him.

Wayne and Janell provided me with the greatest first time job opportunity! I had the pleasure of working with/for Wayne for about 4 years. His sense of humor and appreciation for even the smallest things will be missed. Your family will be in my prayers.

Edwards family,
My condolence goes out to the entire family. I was the USDA Inspector assigned to opa's from 1988 through 2000. It was always a pleasure working with Mr. Edwards. He was a well respected man.

Dear Boogie & Doug,
I'm deeply sorry for you both, and your extended family; to hear of your father's death. It was good to have seen you both yesterday and it did my heart good to hold you both close.
Remember, your father is not gone, but out of sight and just over the horizon, waiting for you. So reachout and visit with him always.
Fondly,
Pat O'Higgins

My husbnd and I were there on March 12th eating and spoke to him and his wife. He had patted my husband on the back and they talked about the ice cream and how good it was. We noticed he wasn't there this past Monday but it wasn't until we went in to eat yesterday that we learned that we had spoken to him just shortly before he passed away.
He and his wife were both wonderful to my husband and I every time we went there and neither one of them couldn't do enough for their customers. He will be sadly missed and we pray that God gives his wife and family the spiritual help to get through the loss of this fine man.
May God bless each and everyone of them.

The many times my friend and I ate at CF at the Forum, we were always greeted with a genuine smile and welcoming face of Wayne. He was always trying to make our visit as pleasant as possible. We feel blessed to have met him and also his sweet and loving wife, Janell. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with all the family. It won't be the same without him but he will always remain in our memories.
Sincerely, Nina Burroughs

Dear Janell,
When one member of the cfa family hurts, we all hurt. We will be praying for you and your family. Though we never really knew you, we realized we stood in line with you and Wayne waiting for the hayride at the ranch while at seminar. It was nice to have that little connection. Blessings to you

Dear Jannel and family,
What a tremendous man, and what a HORRIBLE loss! Wayne was like a father to our son John Mark, and we are forever indebted to him for taking John into his life and business over 10 1/2 years ago. John looked up to him as a trusted friend, and as he said, "a Dad and a brother," and now as he looks where Wayne used to stand and help customers and staff, there is only an absence. He and Jannel built a business second to none and admired by all who went there for the deli-cious food and phenominal service for which their Chick-fil-A was known city wide, and we even ran into a couple in Florida who said, "Oh, you're from San Antonio? Isn't the Chick-fil- A there at the Forum WONDERFUL?!" So the reputation went far away from only our community. Wayne's spirit, drive, concern for others and evident pride and dedication in all he did will be terribly missed, but mostly we will miss the man, and so we pray God will bless and comfort the family as He has promised, "I will never leave you or forsake you...Let not your heart be troubled..." We love you, Jannel.
