Ed Graeter, 89, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Coronado at Stone Oak. He was born in Waco, TX on July 12, 1931 to Edwin and Alma Graeter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Jo Hanks Graeter in 2001.
Ed was a graduate of Waco High School and Baylor University. He received his Masters degree from the University of Southern California. He served 26 years in the USAF, mostly as a pilot and upon retirement held several aviation related positions until his full retirement in 2000. He was an active member of Northern Hills United Methodist Church and he enjoyed his hobbies of planes, trains, and automobiles.
Ed is survived by his wife, Ruth Graeter; his two sons, Robert Graeter of Denton, TX and Gary Graeter of San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Adam Graeter, Kristen Steenkamp, and Ariana Graeter; and two great grandchildren, Amelia, and Sawyer.
The family is very thankful and appreciative of all the kindness and care Ed has received. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any veterans support organization.
