Eloise Gillis Evans

Eloise Gillis Evans who passed away June 23, had been a resident at Inn at Los Patios for the past 12 years. Born in Mills River, North Carolina in 1913, she married James Henry Evans in 1936. The couple lived and worked in North Carolina and central Florida for 40 years until Mr. Evans's death on June 23, 1974. They are survived by their daughter, Judith Infante of San Antonio; three granddaughters and their families: Dr. Nora B. Infante of San Francisco; Gabriela Infante Camps and Enrique Camps of Mexico City, and Juliet Infante Kirchner, Glenn A. Kirchner and Alexander I. Kirchner of Chicago; Juan Carlos Infante of Mexico City; Carl Gillis and Martha Gillis of Canton, North Carolina; and Maurice Evans and Edna Evans of Sparta, Tennessee. The family wishes to express deep affection and appreciation to the staff and employees at Inn at Los Patios for their many years of kindness and friendship. Mrs. Evans will lie in state at Porter Loring, Tuesday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A short memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 25th at 2:00 p.m. at Inn at Los Patios. Funeral and interment will be in Canton, North Carolina, on June 29th.
