This makes me sad. I graduated from USAF OTS in 1987 and then Captain Villa was my flight commander. I still have a name tag from OTS that´s says "Villa´s Raiders". I´m very sorry ... he had a tremendous impact in my life.

God Bless the Villa family.

TO THE VILLA FAMILY

I HAVE KNOWN YOUR DAUGHTER YVETTE VILLA FOR THE PAST 5 YEARS. MR. VILLA MUST HAVE BEEN AN EXCEPTIONAL MAN TO HAVE HAD SUCH A WONDERFUL DAUGHTER. I FEEL FOR YOUR LOSS EVEN THOUGH I NEVER FORMALLY MET MR. VILLA. HOWEVER, YVETTE HAS SHARED SOME OF THE MOST AWESOME AND HEART WARMING STORIES OF HER DAD, WITH ME AND MY STAFF THROUGH THE YEARS; SO WE FEEL AS THOUGH WE KNEW HIM ALTHOUGH WE NEVER FORMALLY MET.

GOD HAS TRULY BLESSED YOUR FAMILY TO HAVE HAD SUCH A MAN TO LEAD YOU. I AND MY STAFF OFFER OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY.

Speedy,

God blessed me by knowing you over the past three years while working together at the Air Force Personnel Center. And while we prayed together with your family in the hospital for a miracle cure, no doubt, our gracious Lord had bigger plans for you in his Kingdom. As we prayed, my wish is that our mansions will be side by side in the Kingdom, and I know it will be awesome when we reunite. I hope your family can find comfort in one of my favorite bible scriptures, Psalms 23:

The LORD Is My Shepherd
A Psalm of David.

1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

My God continue to bless you, Dora, Ruben, Bonnie, Yvett and your grandchildren.

I worked with Mr. Speedy at Kelly AFB in Bldg 308. I lost touch after the closing of the base but he was a very kind man and always cheerful and that smile, it will never be forgotten. He loved his family, especially his wife Dora, called her everyday. I send you his family my condolences and ask the Lord to be by your side during this most difficult time. God bless you Speedy, I know your smile will bring such happiness to those in heaven.

"Speedy" was a man who was not only a mentor to me and to us, but was a witness and a testimony to his own life, his family, and his friends. I worked with him at AFPC in Board Support and pray that the family get God's strength to endure this loss even though it is only for a short while, we WILL see him again. He is walking on streets of Gold, still humming as he did at work.

"For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the Faith, Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of Righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day...." To my family:

I realize that this is one of the most difficult challanges to go through as a family. Lean on each other for strength and faith. When I close my eyes and pray for his soul all I see is his angel of a face smiling at me which brings me a bit of peace knowing that he is with our LORD. They sure broke the mold when he was made. I will always remember the memories we shared as niece and uncle. My uncle Speed set an unattainable standard for the unconditional love of a husband. May God continue to bless you(Dora, Yvette, Bonnie, and Ruben) with love, faith, and hope.

My Sympathy to the Villa Family.
I met Speedy when we started 1st grade in Laredo, Texas and attended Laredo Schools 1st through the 12th grade until our graduation in 1963.
It is hard to remember him without remembering his smile and his kindness which made him who he was.
I found out he was sick because our 45th class reunion is coming up in May and regret that I never saw him after graduation, but like many we each went our own way, still the news of his passing is heartfelt.

You are blessed to have known him personally all the years that the Lord allowed him to be with you. I Pray that the memories of what he stood for and taught you stay with you the rest of your life.
May the Lord guide you and give you comfort, peace and understanding when you turn to him and throughout this hard time.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted"
Matthew 5 vs. 4

I had the honor and pleasure of working with Speedy at AFPC on Special Trophies and Awards. He was a great person to work with and always had great stories to share. I loved seeing the pictures of his family and how he always talked about his wife, kids and grandkids. I respected his values on family, work, and life itself. I remember everyday he would call his wife, Dora. He was a very dedicated husband and loved Dora with all his heart. Speedy had a contagious smile and laugh. I will miss him greatly, but know that one day I will see his smilely face. May God watch over his family and help them through this transition.
