Fritz Heitkamp Obituary
Fritz Carl Heitkamp was born on December 14, 1922 in San Antonio, TX and went to be with the Lord July 24, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mina (Renz) Heitkamp; stepfather, John Eisenhauer; sister, Rosalie (Heitkamp) Burkhardt; stepbrothers, Harry, Milton, and Marvin Eisenhauer and half-brother, Arnold Eisenhauer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lorene (Gerhart) Heitkamp; son, Steven Paul and wife Mary Ann (Horan) Heitkamp; grandsons, Joshua Carl Heitkamp and Randall Steven Heitkamp; sister, Myrtle (Heitkamp) Plummer; half-brothers, John Eisenhauer, Charles and wife Elaine Eisenhauer; stepsister, Allen and husband Van Autry; sister-in-law, Marietta Gerhart; stepsisters-in-law, Claudine Eisenhauer and Georgetta and husband Ray Bush; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Fritz joined the Army and served in WWII34th Division, 185th F.A. Bn from February, 1943 to November, 1945, receiving the EAME Campaign Medal, 4 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal. He was an active member of Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church, served on the Church Council, Building Committee and was a Luther League Sponsor. Fritz worked 37 years at the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of San Antonio as route salesman and building maintenance supervisor and served as officer on Wetmore Community Cemetery, Inc. from 1985 until now. He was a member of the American Society of Dowsers, Inc. and a life member of VFW Post 8541. Fritz enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, traveling, playing cards and playing dominoes at Young At Heart. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and grandsons. A Visitation will be held Sunday, July 27, 2003 from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be conducted Monday, July 28, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. at Beitel Lutheran Church, 2515 Austin Hwy., San Antonio, TX. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
