Fuad Abuabara Obituary
Fuad Abuabara MD was born in Mompox, Colombia and passed away in San Antonio,TX on his birthday.
Fuad graduated from the National University of Colombia Medical School as a Physician and Surgeon. He later moved to Detroit, Michigan where he trained in Internal Medicine at Grace Hospital. He remained there as an attending physician training residents in Internal Medicine. He moved to Howell Michigan in Private Practice. He was recognized for Advanced Achievement in Internal Medicine.
Fuad was in Private Practice in Detroit and Howell Michigan. He later moved to San Antonio, TX where he continued in Private Practice until he retired.
Fuad was preceded in death by his first wife Gloria. He is survived by his loving wife Mercedes Abuabara, his children Fuad Jr MD, Heidi & Mark Rinaldi, Omar & Cindy, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grand children, sisters Rosita & Yasmin, Sabas Abuabara MD & family.
A mass will be held on December 9, 2016 at 11am, St Mark, 1602 Thousand Oaks.
Fuad was a National Champion Chess Player for Colombia. He was a member of the American Radio Relay League communicating with friends and kings from all over the world.

I was going through a filing cabinet drawer and I came across an appointment card that I had gotten from his office years ago when I was a patient of his. I remember when he retired. He was such a kind , gentle and caring person.

Mercedes, and family, I'm so sorry for your loss. Dr A. was the best, he was so funny and I enjoyed every moment I spent working for him. He taught me to play soduku and I still play it. I taught him to play free cell card game, he was hilarious, he just wanted to be on the computer playing it and don't make him loose because boy I wouldn't hear the end of it. Though, I didn't try hard enough looking for him, I have always thought of him and I will treasure the memories I have from him. He was a very nice,funny and kind Dr. May God Bless you all and again I Loved Dr. A. Thank you too Mercedes, for everything.
