Georgina D. Weaver
May 16, 1951 - October 12, 2025
Georgina D. Weaver passed peacefully into the hands of our Lord on Sunday, Oct 12, 2025, in the presence of her loving husband Don. Ginger had been ill for some time and passed while she slept peacefully. Ginger is survived by her husband of 41 years, Donald W. Weaver, her son Brian L. Weaver, her daughter Kimberly N. Garza (Kenny), and her granddaughter Ella Rose Garza and her pet cat, Pieper. Ginger's surviving family includes her brother Roger Davis (Annette) from California, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ginger was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina, on May 16, 1951, the daughter of Clarence L. Davis and Gaynor Davis (Jones). The Davis family moved several times so her father could work on different construction projects, eventually settling in Orange County, California. Ginger graduated from Westminster High School in 1969 and started working in the bookkeeping/accounting field. Ginger met Don in January 1980 while visiting a friend in Omaha, Nebraska and after a long courtship, she and Don were married in Anaheim, California in September 1984. Ginger joined her husband at Howard AFB, Panama in December 1984 and in December 1985 they welcomed their first born, Brian. Following Panama, the Weavers transferred to Wright-Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio. While in Ohio, Ginger continued to work in the accounting field and the Weavers welcomed their second child, Kimberly, in October 1988. The Weaver family's next move was to Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Japan in 1989. There Ginger did volunteer work and managed the base theater while raising two active children. The Weaver family arrived in San Antonio, Tx in 1992 and finally settled down by buying a home and raising their family.
Ginger was a loving wife and supportive mother to her children. She was highly active in PTA when her children were in elementary school serving as treasurer and selling popcorn and pickles at the school, a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, TJ's Dance Show group mom, O'Connor High School Gold Dusters team mom, and an avid bowler until illness caused her to stop. Ginger worked at Walgreens as a bookkeeper and inventory control specialist until her retirement in March 2014. Following retirement Ginger enjoyed retired life by spending time with family and friends and taking trips with Don across the country to visit distant family members and to fulfill her desire to visit all fifty states until illness limited her ability to walk and caused her to remain at home.
Ginger chose Neptune Society to manage her cremation and later internment with her husband, after his passing, in Ft. Sam Military Cemetery.
