Gilbert Eric Fuentes, our beloved son, grandson, brother and uncle. Born in San Antonio on June 19, 1976 and passed away on November 3, 2009. He is preceded in death by grandparents Victor and Maria Luisa Cadena. He is survived by parents Gilbert & Rita Fuentes, mother Elvira Fuentes. Paternal grandparents Ysedor and Amelia Fuentes, brothers; Jacob, Jason and Benjamin Fuentes, sister; Bianca (Manny) Reyes, numerous; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends. Visitation will begin on Sunday, November 8, 2009, from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. at M.E. Rodriguez funeral chapel all services will conclude at the chapel.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Mr. and Mrs. Fuentes. We cant even begin to know what it feels like to lose a son or daughter at that young age,It is so hard to believe. He is now at piece even though he has left you with heart ache. Be strong and we will pray for him always.

My Eric...... what can I say?? We have been friends for over 15+ years! I will never 4get the day i met you when you were at the football field there at Lanier. I never knew so much about football, basketball, Michael Jordan, LIFE in general becuz of you. You were my friend, my buddy, my pal, You were my journal i could open up to you about anything i was going thru in my life.

I was your Piets... I will miss you so much! I can honestly say I love you, & mean it when you would get quite & just laugh. Eric, since i have found out about your passing I ask GOD why my Eric? Why??? Who will be my journal now? Who will make fun of me since I graduated from Tech? I have cried each night since I found out about you. When I went to go see your granmother after she told me I felt so weird going over & you not coming out like you use to when I would go visit you. Ohhh Eric, I miss you dearly! I know that you are in a better place & are at peace now, & you are now MY guardian angel that will take care of me like you always did when you were here by my side!

The red rosary I left for u in your hands the night for your services was to pick on you one last time that Tech is #1, but I can honstly say that this Chili Bowl was won in your memory! Eric, please know that I love you & I always will! I know we always talked about why we didnt make it work when we were in High school, but look how good of friends we were. The friendship we had was like no other. I thank you for being my friend, & confidant Eric! I love you & Always will!

Cousin, Thomas and I will miss the days we would sit and watch MST 3000 for hours, Dragon ball Z at 4pm, and even press your luck hoping that every single person would get a WHAMMY. south park, the Simpsons, i could go on forever. you would make us laugh so hard, we would choke. Thomas loved how you would make him laugh!! You introduced us to the Sopranos, made sure we knew that Jordan was the greatest, and debated with us on every single subject we could come up with.

If it were not for you, i would never have known how tough i could be, that there really was no old man with the ax, I would not know how to play video games or know that gansta rap and heavy metal could be art. you taught me so much, too much to write, and i will never forget you for it. Domo arigato, aishite imasu.
