Our loving wife and mother, Glendeen Mitchell, peacefully entered into eternal rest, surrounded by loved ones, in the early morning hours of Monday, September 6, 2021, at the age of 85, in San Antonio, TX. She was born on January 30, 1936, in Leighton, KY, to parents, Robert G. Estes and Mary E. Sparks. Glendeen was a parishioner at Calvary Hills Baptist Church. At various times throughout her life, she worked in the retail, food and beverage and hospitality industries. Glendeen enjoyed cooking and baking and took great pride in entertaining family and friends for holdays, birthdays and special events. She had many hobbies and interests, including sewing, crafts, quilting, tending to her flower gardens and traveleing. She was preceded in death by, her parents, Robert and Mary Estes; brothers, Helbert W. Estes, Ezeakiel "Zeke" Estes, Glenn "Ray" Estes; sisters, Candis "Candy" J. Moore, Mabel Newton, Alma May "Tennie" F. Smelko and Mary "Margaret" Morris. Glendeen is survived by her husband, William I. Mitchell; her sons, Robert K. Mitchell, and Ryan L. Mitchell (Jodie); her grandchildren, Tyler L. Mitchell (Hailey) and Shelby L. Jones (Patrick); her great grandchildren, Ryder L. Jones, Leighton B. Mitchell, and Hattie A. Jones; her brother, Delco "Dale" P. Estes; sisters, Argathie "Aggie" Wells, Yumonda "Monda" G. McIntosh and Margie M. Putteet; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Porter Loring Mortuary.
FUNERAL SERVICETHURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 202110:00 AMPORTER LORING CHAPEL1101 MCCULLOUGH AVE.
Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.

Dear Mitchell family, my sincere condolences for your loss. My fondest memory of your Mother was her genuine kindness and ability to make you feel at home & part of the family. I remember making Christmas candies and baking cookies with her. She will forever be in our hearts and will be greatly missed.
