Glenn Lee Poteet
September 19, 1939 - May 10, 2025
Glenn Lee Poteet, age 85, passed away on May 10th, 2025. Glenn was born in San Antonio on September 19, 1939. He lived all of his life in San Antonio, except when he and his wife, Cora, lived in Alpine, Texas for three years.
Gleen graduated from Brackenridge High School and earned a B.S. degree and a M.S. degree from Trinity University. Glenn was in the United States Air Force Reserves for six years with the 433rd Troop Carrier Wing at Kelly AFB, Texas. Glenn retired from CPS Energy after over 36 years of service. Glenn played the organ at various churches, including playing the organ at Epworth UMC for 27 years. Glenn was Bookkeeper for St. John's UMC for over 13 years until the church closed in April 2024. In addition to playing piano and organ, Glenn especially enjoyed playing golf and tennis. He also enjoyed growing roses for many years.
The highlight of Glenn's life was meeting and then marrying Rev. Cora Nell Duderstadt in 1982. They were married for 38 years until Cora passed away in December 2020. Glenn and Cora enjoyed business and vacation trips over the years and especially enjoyed Cloudcroft, New Mexico, where they had a vacation cabin for 10 years.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Nell Poteet; his parents, John Allen Poteet and Etta Mae Poteet; a brother, John Allen Poteet, Jr., and Cora's son, Tom Duderstadt.
Glenn is survived by a brother, Robert Martin Poteet and his wife Carol and their children/grandchildren; Brian Poteet and his wife Lisa and their children; Terrie Marquis and her husband John and their children/grandchildren. Glenn is also survived by Cora's family, which includes, Debra Schneider and her husband Bob and their children/grandchildren; Janell Maiorka and her husband Guy and their children/grandchildren; Tom Duderstandt's wife Sabrina Fitzpatrick and Tom's children/grandchildren; Sue Crow and her husband Scott Millard and their children/grandchildren; Joy Bedford and her husband Robert and their children/grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 7th, 2025 at 11:30am at Laurel Heights United Methodist Church, San Antonio, Texas.

Glenn will be remembered as kind and loving, generous, independent, careful and always willing to join the family fun.
