Cliff, Forest and Katy. I hope you remember the Adair's. Bill worked for Transco, I taught piano and played the piano at the Baptist Church. Our children, Cindy, Nathan went to school with you and John was only 2, 3, and 4
while we were there in the little house in front of the school. Your parents and grand-parents were so loving and made out stay there in Tilden special. I will always think kindly of your whole family. I have many good memories of them. We were on a "limited budget" and I remember one time visiting with Gloria and she gave me a whole coca-cola and I realized she must be rich. Today I can afford a whole coke but not then. I rode the ranch with her once in a pick-up truck taking salt for the cattle. That was a treat. I remember she taught me what a cattle guard was. Once when she went over to Three Rivers she came back with a new outfit for me and heavy duty trucks for the boys. I'm sure there was something for Cindy but I don't remember. I just want you to know that I loved your family I keep in touch with Betty Dickinson and did with Doris Dickinson up until her illness. God bless you all and the whole Wheeler family. My Bill died in 2013, Our three are doing well and live nearby. With love and prayers, Joan Adair

Mrs. Gloria Wheeler, was the most beautiful woman in all of McMullen County! I remember when she would be our substitute teacher, she was always so kind to all the children. I saw her once years later at the Riverwalk we were riding the same riverboat! She was as beautiful as I remembered her, plus she recognized me!
She always helped my grandfather Estaben Garcia, My Uncle Tacho Garcia and my Aunt Anita Garcia Gonzales.
I'm not surprised that she wouldn't want flowers, but donations for families in need! We don't get to know many people in our life that are that caring and loving! Katie, Clif, and Forrest you had a wonderful Mother and Father.

Cliff, Forest and family, It is always difficult to lose a mother, sister, Grandmother, Aunt and friend, but Mrs. Wheeler was blessed to live a good, long life and was from one of the most respected families I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. May God walk your family through this difficult lost with His Amazing Grace.

Gloria was always such a fun person, and we visited often when they were still living in Tilden. I still have an armadillo flower arrangement from her gift shop in Tilden. I know she will be missed, but she leaves a huge family legacy that will always honor her. May God keep you all in the palms of his hands.

Years ago Gloria visited our home in San Antonio, I don't remember the event, probably a shower or some such happy occasion. I remember she was a vivacious woman and that as a teenager she did barrel racing! Not an activity for the faint hearted.

Beyond our time of close families hunting with one another in McMullen County decades ago, Gloria and I spent time running around together and having dinner when I lived in San Antonio. She was a timeless lady, both a young spirit and an old soul at the same time, always fun, with a smile and a laugh to offer, light-hearted and deeply loving, warm, caring, unforgettable, indelible, a woman with mastery over country life, and a connoisseur of the best life had to offer on any and every level. Gloria was aptly named - she was "glorious" in every possible way. Her life was a gift and her loss will be deeply felt. My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to all who love Gloria and whom she loves - that love will never die. God bless you, Katie, Cliff and Forrest!

Dear Katie, Forrest and Clifton,
Our deepest condolences in the passing of your beautiful, gracious mother. While I didnt grow up in Tilden, I was around her and your dad on several different occasions and they both made an impression on me. My parents both held them both in high regard. I particularly remember when your mom operated Dog Town Boutique. My mom, Cheryl and I loved going in there.
Prayers for her and the family.

With affection,

Katie, Cliff and Forrest, You have my condolences and sympathies during this difficult time in your lives. It is so very hard to lose a parent, no matter the age. Your mom will always hold a special place in my heart for the way she was always so warm and loving to me and my family. Always quick with a smile and a helping hand, she brightened so many lives along her way that she will always be with us in some measure.

Wheeler Family, your mother always feel like we were family. When she'd come to the store she would always give me a hug and kiss on my cheek and then she'd always ask how Caleb and Julie were. She had such a sweet, sweet spirit about her that came from her love of Jesus. We will miss her, but rejoice with you knowing that she now sits in the presence of the Savior she loves so much. Love you all, Dale, Julie and Caleb

Our loss is Heaven's gain. Glo was a mother to us all and a friend always. I have so many wonderful memories of Glo that I will always treasure; she took me on my first deer hunting trip and could cook any game and make it taste great. She was loving and giving; a model of God's love to us all.
