Grace Sitton Obituary

Grace Moffett Sitton passed away on Sunday, February 29, 2004, at her home after a long illness. She was born in Jasper County Mississippi on October 29, 1920 to her parents, Ben and Ebbie Moffett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Franklin G. Sitton (USA Ret'd); sisters, Geneva Jones, Janet Hinton and Georgia Moffett; brother, Glen Moffett; grandson, Brad Sitton. Remembering and loving her are her daughter, Gretchen Seale, her husband Jay Seale, their children, Chelsea and Houston of Fredericksburg, TX; son, Gordon Sitton, his wife Dian Sitton, their daughter, Jill Dunn, her husband Joe Dunn, and great-grandchildren, Mason and Emory. Grace had a wonderful and full life and traveled extensively with her husband, Frank, during his service with the Army and after his retirement. They lived in both Germany and Japan during his service. They shared other hobbies as well including Bridge, where she gathered many master points and made wonderful friendships that spanned her lifetime. Other hobbies included golf where she was known for her skill with a putter, and fishing at the Gulf Coast. She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining with friends. Grace was an Episcopalian and member of St. George Episcopalian Church where she served with, and at one time headed, the Altar Guild. Services for her will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2004. Grace was adamant that only a simple "Graveside Ceremony" be held, and her wishes will be honored at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery at 1:45 P.M. Sunset Funeral Home.
