Muy queridos Jacqueline, Anabelle, Miguel and Jacqueline,

Mrs.Ardid and family,
So sad to hear of this wonderful Gentleman's passing but yet he brings memories of my Father Gregory Guajardo Sr.from La Louisian. My Dad had a great deal of respect and admiration for "El Senor Ardid" I remember small get togethers that just were better than any fine dining restaurant you could think of! Joys of giving and sharing were the greatest lessons a little guy could ever learn! I know they are up there cooking and serving "El Senor" God bless you and your family!

Correction, the last time we ate at Chez Ardid was New Years Eve 1998. Ceci Osherow

My husband and I were very sad to hear of Guillermo Ardid's passing. We read today's article in the SA Express News.

We first met Guillermo and family in 1977 when they opened up Chez Ardid at 7701 Broadway, Dijon Plaza. Later they moved to 1919 San Pedro. What a wonderful restaurant. It was a real treat to go there for lunch or dinner and special occasions. We have so many good memories of Mr. Ardid. We were there for dinner New Years Eve 1997. I think that was the last time we ate there.

I learned to cook from him, as well as from Miguel and Anabelle. So basically, he taught me how to cook.

His many recipes often grace our table and we think of him. I have many of his recipes in albums.

To all of you in the Ardid family, we love you and wish you well in this time of grief. Ceci and Randy Osherow

Dear Jacqueline, Annabelle, Miguel, and Jacqueline: All of you were such great friends to me and my family. One of the greatest memories I have of William was the night I was dining in your wonderful restaurant on the night I graduated from law school, and William brought me a bottle of wine that was the most wonderful wine I had ever tasted. He made me understand how special he and this place were. I will never forget that day. My love to you all

Guillermo will live on in all of you. Those of us who had the honour to have met him and spent time with the family will treasure the memories. For me, the time in San Antonio, and many years later in Los Olmos, welded a friendship I shall always hold dear. The warmth with which he received me in your home and made meals for us with great enjoyment, tells a tale of a selfless, generous human being with great qualities about enjoying what is life, quite simply, and giving to others. May he rest in peace. My love and thoughts to the family.

It's difficult to condense one's memories of the wonderful times spent with Guillermo and his beautiful family. When I think about Guillermo, I find myself in a whirlwind of thoughts; the exquisite trips to Europe, visiting with Guillermo's family in his little village in Spain, dining in the finest of restaurants to enjoying holiday gatherings with his family in their home. Charles and I were truly blessed with a friendship that many may never have. Coping with the loss of a loved one is one of the hardest things to do. My prayers are with you Jacqueline and your family. Guillermo will live on in all our memories and in our hearts. Peace and Blessings to each of you.
With love, Shirley Becker

I am saddened to hear of this news. I remember him and his family well during my short lived stint as his employee at Chez Ardid. What a magical place that was! God bless to all his family in this time of grief.

To all of Guillermo's beautiful family and friends, I send my deepest condolences on your great loss. I have been living in Lyon and as I go about my days I have had your entire family and the glory days of Chez Ardid and my early childhood memories of Handy Andy Oak Park ingrained in my brain, as that is when I first met Mr. Guillermo. I am grateful to his legacy for leaving so many of us with priceless moments that can never be matched and for his help each year with my NPRA duties and gatherings that he always ensured would be an astounding success.
A Dios, Don Guillermo y mil gracias por su arte, su presencia y su forma de ser.
May Mrs. Ardid and the family be surrounded by peace and much love at this difficult time. You are all in my hearts and prayers as I will go to Fourviere this morning to honor a job very well done!! VIVA Guillermo Ardid!!
