Helga Hendricks Obituary
Helga Anna Thieme Hendricks, age 71, of San Antonio, TX, passed away Feb. 2, 2011 at home. Helga was born to the late Siegfried and Johanna Forter Thieme on Feb. 2, 1940 in Wetzendorf, Germany. She was a Mother, Nana, Therapist and Friend. Helga was a graduate of UTSA and St. Mary's University. She is a former director of the Medina County Battered Women's Shelter. Survivors include her children and their spouses, Steven and Laurie Hendricks of Solon, OH, Michael and Susan Hendricks of San Antonio, and Patricia and John Miller of Buda; grandchildren, Meagan Miller, Hannah Miller, Stefan Hendricks, Jana Hendricks, LilyAnne Miller, Teran Hendricks, and Sean Hendricks. The family wishes to thank her close friends, neighbors, Dr. Crespo and LeAnn. A memorial service will be held at Helga's home on Saturday February 12 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her memory to the Humane Society, or the Animal Defense League. I STIL MISS MY FRIEND. HELGA WILL ALWAYS BE A SPECIAL MEMORY, A SPECIAL PERSON TO MYSELF AND OTHERS IN SAN ANTONIO AND THROUGHOUT THE TREATMENT COMMUNITY IN TEXAS. I will miss Helga greatly. I considered her a friend and colleague. She was always ready to help where needed. My thoughts and prayers are with her family to get them through this time of grief.

I also have many fond memories of Helga. we started the Medina Battered Women's Shelter and Medina Counseling Service many years ago. Although we lost contact over the years nothing changed my affection and respect for Helga she was a bright spot in my life. Misty Morris

Helga was a friend and an inspriation to from the day I met her 17 years ago. We have travelled many roads together and shared many laughs. I will miss her dearly

I went with Helga to South Africa in 2004. She was a great friend and taught me many things about international travel. She was an inspiration to me and I will miss her.
