WURZBACH
Hertha Caroline Schroeder Wurzbach, age 97, of Rio Medina, was born on October 4, 1913 to the late George and Alma Wolle Schroeder at the family home in Sharp, TX. She peacefully died November 29, 2010 at Medina Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Castroville, TX. She was baptized in the Peace Lutheran Church in Sharp, TX as an infant by Rev. Hans Ander. Confirmed at the age of 15 by Rev. Bauer at Round Top, TX. Hertha married Herbert Wurzbach in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Castroville on June 1, 1940 by Rev. Faltenburg. Herbert passed away Dec. 14, 1997 after 57 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Herbert A. Schroeder and his wife Audrey Mitchen Schroeder, and brothers-in-law, Burnie A. Miller and Arthur Inge. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Tommy D. and Lee Ann Wurzbach, Patrick and Phyllis Wurzbach all of of Rio Medina, and Doris and Butch Schueling of Hondo; eight grandchildren, Clinton Wurzbach, Garrett Wurzbach, Rheannen Wurzbach, Tiffany and Justin Rodgers, Andrea and Shane Schuchart, Shaunna and Gable Martinez, Gaylon and Farrah Stricker Schueling, Jonathan and Theresa Koch Schueling; great grandchildren, Adalyn and Taft Rodgers, Raquel, Rebecca and Reily Martinez; sisters, Lydia Miller of Lexington, TX and Flora Inge of Buckholts, TX. The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home will be open for visitation on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville, TX. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Castroville. Memorials may be given in her memory to either Zion Lutheran Cemetery or to the Medina County Food Pantry. www.tondre-guinn.com.
