Holly Carr Obituary

August 16, 1946 - February 27, 2015
Holly Carr was a lovely woman but it was her smile and warm charm that would light up a room. She was a gift of love and generous spirit to all who were lucky enough to be touched by her life. Holly was born August 16, 1946 in Tampa, Florida. She always said that she got to San Antonio, Texas as soon as she could! She succumbed to ALS after a brave battle on February 27, 2015. Holly was a founding member and President of the San Antonio Single Women's Society, an organization that provided philanthropic support focused on needs in the local community. The organization was marked by its active fund raising events and support of the members. Upon getting married, in 1982, Holly moved to Plano, Texas where she began a new career with Monroe in the children's apparel business at the Dallas Apparel Mart. She served for several years as President of the United Southwest Children's Organization at the Dallas Apparel Mart and also served as Volunteer Coordinator for 10 years for the Lone Star Charity Golf Tournament. She and Monroe later started a successful career in residential real estate business where she became the Operating Partner of Keller Williams Real Estate in McKinney, Texas, for seventeen years. Holly was a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ and always said she was not afraid because she knew where she was going. She was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano. Holly Carr, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, businesswoman, leader, and child of God, will be remembered, loved, and missed by the many she touched, inspired, and loved. Holly Carr is survived by her loving husband of thirty three years, Monroe, by her two sister-in-laws, Joanna Carr of Plano TX and Candy Butner of Asheville NC., her children, Will Carr of McKinney, Texas, Blaine (Kelly) Boazman, of San Antonio, Texas, and Aimee (Jeff) Baker, of Cibolo, Texas, and by grandchildren, Cody Boazman (Cara), Rhody Baker, Hunter Boazman, Emilee Boazman, and Sydni LeeAnn Baker, and also by her great granddaughter, Ava Marie Boazman. Memorial Services will be held at Prestonwood Baptist Church, 6801 W. Park Blvd, Plano, Texas, 75093, on March 20th, 1:00 PM Immediately followed by a reception at Holly and Monroe's home. In lieu of flowers Holly requested that contributions be made to the ALS Association, Texas Chapter. www.alsa-texas.org

We can't imagine what you are going through at this time. May you find peace and comfort in the love of family and friends. The Bible describes God as a "God of comfort". May he prove to be so for you.
