JACQUELINE LEGROS ARDID was born on February 27, 1936 in Tours, France in the heart of the Loire Valley but soon relocated to Normandie where she lived until 18 and where she spent five years under German occupation during WWII.
Jacqueline soon met the love of her life, Guillermo Ardid. They married at La Rochelle Normande Oct. 20, 1956, and left to travel the world. They eventually settled in San Antonio where they owned the acclaimed Chez Ardid restaurant from 1977 to 1999.
Jacqueline embraced all things Texas but always with a French flair. She passed on a love for reading, cooking, travel, music, gardening, knitting and sewing to family and friends alike. A truly beautiful person whose love and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by Guillermo on August 12, 2015. Jacqueline leaves behind her son Miguel Ardid and daughters Anabelle Ardid Parry and Jacqueline Ardid Gross, their spouses Teresa Ardid, Scott Parry and Mark Gross, her grandchildren Christian Gross (Laura), Marie-Louise Friedland (Mark), Allen Gross (Thu), Samuel Friedland, Danielle Gross Larimer (Ryan), Andrea Parry and Britney Garcia, seven great grandchildren and her beloved Papillon Finette.
A Célébration de la vie will be held at Mission Park Dominion on April 15th, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel for family, friends and acquaintances.
