Jeanette Barron Obituary

BARRON
Jeanette Hacker Barron passed away on Saturday July 6, 2013, after a long battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Jeanette was born in San Antonio, Texas to Grady Hacker and Marcella Biediger Hacker who preceded her in death.

Jeanette graduated from Providence High School in San Antonio, Texas and shortly afterward married the love of her life, Buddy Barron. They shared 57 wonderful years together, experiencing hand in hand all the good times and bad times that life presented, holding fast to each other knowing that their love would see them through any hardship. Together they adopted three infant children, Kathryn, Anthony and Thomas, all of whom live in San Antonio.

Jeanette was a stay at home mother who delighted in cooking, baking and sewing for her family as well as staying active in the community. She was an avid gardener. She was also very instrumental in the establishment of Barron Risk Management Services and continued to help in its growth and success. A devout Catholic, she was very active in St. Luke Catholic Church and served on the board of the Association for Retarded Citizens. She was also heavily involved in various insurance associations at the local, state, and international level.

Jeanette is survived by her husband Buddy, their three children, three grandchildren, Marcie, Gwen and David and great-grandson, Aiden. She is also survived by her brother Murray, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with a funeral mass beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church located at 8500 Cross Mountain Trail, San Antonio, Texas. Private interment services will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Leming, Texas. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations in Jeanette's name to the Association for Retarded Citizens 13430 West Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78216 or to the ALS Association Texas Chapter 8600 Wurzbach Rd, Suite 700, San Antonio, Texas 78240. I am so sorry to hear of Jeanette's passing.
I remember the house in Leon Valley on Sawyer Road...I was just across the road at Wolff's Sausage Shop! And then Providence! She always had "everything together" and I was so envious back in "those days".
She was a truly special person.
