Jeanne Peeler Moore beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister entered into eternal rest on September 1, 2010 at the age of 84. Even in her final days she was a fighter as said by one of her doctors "she is tough as an old boot". She was born Marguerite Jeanne Peeler in San Antonio, Texas to Marguerite Jefferson Guinn and Jefferson Davis Peeler on October 1, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Al Moore, Jr., her infant brother Jefferson Davis Peeler, Jr., and her parents. She is survived by her only daughter, Terry; sons, Tommy and wife Nancy, Billy and wife Joan, Davy and wife Lauri; grandchildren, Brian, Chassie, Ashley, Austin, Mick, Tyler, Jenna; six great-grandchildren; brother, Col. John J. Peeler, USMC, Retired; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jeanne and her brother John were known to hop a train or two in their teen years to get across town. They were always together and best of friends. She loved the outdoors and participated and excelled in all kinds of sports. She attended Brackenridge High School and graduated in 1945. She modeled for Frost Brothers and worked at Hertzberg Jewelers where she met her husband Al. As a full-time wife and mother she always played an active role in her children's activities from taking them to swim practice, baseball practice or tubing down the rapids at the Frio River on their annual vacations. She was born and raised in San Antonio but she was a "country girl" at heart and she loved to spend time at the family ranch. Even though she battled Multiple Sclerosis for many years she said "I have lived life to the fullest and have no regrets". She always enjoyed her exercise, and insisted on doing her physical therapy to the very end. Anyone who knew and met Jeanne was amazed at her positive attitude and loved her beautiful smile and sweet spirit. In her 80's you could even catch her on the back of her son's Harley always laughing. The family would like to thank care giver, Lea-Ann Brown for her loving care and support in these last few months and John Kammrath of Concordia Lutheran Church for his many visits and prayers. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary downtown. MEMORIAL SERVICE
