Jesse Peña Obituary
Jesse R. Peña, a 35-year veteran of the San Antonio Police Department and the Area Director of Security for the Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency San Antonio passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014.
Born in San Antonio,Texas on August, 28,1947, to Jesus Garza Peña and Rosalina R. Peña, Jesse attended St. John Berchman's and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1966. Jesse was a loving father, brother and loyal friend.
Mourning his loss are his two daughters, Jennifer and Stephanie Peña, his 2 grandchildren, Alexandria and Jakob Perez and his sister and brother Margo and Mark Peña.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at 3:00 P.M. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 8134 Blanco Road, San Antonio, Texas 78216. A reception will be held immediately following the mass at the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the 100 Club of San Antonio, a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of families of law enforcement and firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty.

We could talk and laugh for hours at a time. He was quite the Entertainer, the life of any group or party. He loved sharing a laugh---kind and witty Jesse. His monogrammed shirts, his neatly groomed hair, his clean car, and so much more made JRP unique. Loved his ethnicity story . He was such a great guy. Jesse was a unique individual, he transcended generations with his humor, advice, and example. Although in the flesh we mourn the gap left by our brother, in the soul we rejoice because of the assurance the Lord has made to us that our brother Jesse R Pena lives forever in the kingdom of heaven. I was honored to attend Jesse's Funeral Services yesterday and was taken aback by the pouring of friends and associates present. This only solidifies how many people Jesse touched and how much he was truly loved. I had the distinct pleasure of working with Jesse via Central Parking and he was truly a gentleman of scholar, a friend, confidant, the softest teddy bear and a magnificent person. There will never be another Jesse R. Pena. My heartfelt sympathy to the entire Pena Family. I pray that God will give each of you the strength and peace to live your lifes to the fullest with happiness and joy in knowing that you will see Jesse again one day. This is not the end for Jessee but only the beginning of life everlasting while he sits on the thrown with our beloved Jesus Christ.
May God Bless each of you everyday. Take comfort in knowing that Jesse is your angel in heaven. The memories that we all have of your precious Jesse are priceless and will never fade away.

I worked with Jesse 10 years ago at the Hyatt San Antonio. He became a great friend and even though we hadn't been in touch for a while, I have great memories of him. He will be missed by so many people. He was such a great person. May you rest in Peace.
